About the Course:
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is the world’s leading suicide intervention workshop, created by LivingWorks Education. This evidence-based program equips participants with practical skills to support someone at risk of suicide. Instructors maintain a careful balance of challenge and safety throughout the training.

🎯 Learning Outcomes
As an ASIST trainee—or “suicide first responder”—you will learn to:
- ✔ Recognize and assist a person at risk of suicide
- ✔ Discuss suicide openly, directly, and safely
- ✔ Demonstrate practical intervention skills
- ✔ Understand how attitudes and stigma affect suicide risk
- ✔ Learn the facts and dispel myths about suicide
- ✔ Identify “risk alerts” and develop safe plans
- ✔ Connect people with community resources
- ✔ Advocate for stronger prevention networks
- ✔ Promote life, resilience, and self-care for helpers and at-risk individuals
👩🏫 Instructors
Two LivingWorks-registered Suicide Intervention Trainers will facilitate the training. Both are experienced and prepared to support participants who may find the material emotionally challenging.
📜 Certificate & Accreditation
- Certificate: Awarded upon completion
- International Recognition: ASIST is the gold standard in suicide intervention training
- Validity: Certificates do not expire, though a "Tune-Up" (Taking the course again), is recommended every 2–3 years
- CEUs: Many organizations and licensure boards recognize ASIST for Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
📅 Course Details
- Duration: 14 hours over 2 consecutive days
- Schedule: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM daily (includes lunch break)
- Arrival: Please arrive 15 minutes early on Day 1 for registration
- Completion: 100% attendance and skills demonstration are required
