BLS Provider - includes: CPR & AED + BVM, AR, Pulse Checking (Adult, Child, Infant)
Pre-requisite for: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses
Description: The BLS Provider (Basic Life Support) course is offered to those who wish to develop and enhance their knowledge and skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Course skills taught are 1 & 2 rescuer CPR, choking, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training and the use of the bag valve mask (BVM) for Adult, Child, Infant. The course is designed for healthcare providers who need a credentialed course and is also open to first responders who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.
Completion Requirements: 100% attendance, skills demonstration, and passing grade on the written test.
Course Includes: Heart & Stroke - BLS Provider Manual
Certification: 1-year HSFC BLS Provider course completion card (E-Card).
Duration: Approximately 6.5 hours
