ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) (Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada)
Description: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team management of a cardiac arrest, team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. Specific skills in airway management and related pharmacology are also featured. Skills are taught through discussion and group learning, while testing stations offer case-based scenarios using simulators.
Prerequisite:The 2 following are required:
1) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider course: Online registration at www.Canadian-Training.ca (click on Heart & Stroke Courses) or by phone at (204) 233-2328 ex 205
2) Please complete the following Pre-course assessment: https://resuscitation.heartandstroke.ca/resources/other/acls_training
Please email completed ACLS Pre-test and a copy of your current BLS Provider certification to Sian@Canadian-Training.ca before course date.
*Please be advised: Only active healthcare providers whose training and scope of practice include a knowledge base encompassing the foundation of ACLS knowledge and skill may enrol in the ACLS course.
Completion Requirements:100% attendance plus students must pass a written exam and skills test in order to qualify for an ACLS Course Completion Card.
Certification: 2-Year ACLS Course Completion Card (E-Card).
Duration: Approximately 16 hours - 2 days
